Kate is a well networked sustainability professional with over 27 years of experience, principally in the mining industry. She mainly works for junior mining companies as a member of the Owner’s Team with leadership on sustainability issues, and also for Equator Principles Financial Institutions and consulting engineering groups. She also holds the position of Non-Executive Director to AIM listed junior mining company Condor Gold, TSX listed Roxgold Inc and TSX-V listed Orezone Gold Corporation. She also sits on the Safety, Health, Environment and Community (SHEC) Committee advising the Board of AIM listed Hummingbird Resources.

She has worked extensively on mining projects in Europe and Africa, developing policy frameworks, managing the ESIA process, stakeholder engagement and permitting, liaison with lenders and equity partners, developing environmental management frameworks and documentation, annual reporting and construction supervision.   She has also been a member of a number of Due Diligence teams on high profile new projects and has also contributed to documentation on industry good practice, such as the UNEP Awareness and Preparedness for Emergencies at Local Level (APELL) for Mining (2001), the IFC Good Practice Note on Managing Contractors Environmental and Social Performance (2017) and the Responsible Jewellery Council (2018), updating their Codes of Practice (COP) relating to mining best practice. She holds a BSc in Environmental Science, an MSc from Imperial College in Environmental Technology and is a Chartered Environmentalist. Kate brings a range of expertise covering the industry, Equator Principles concerns and a practical, common sense approach.
