Matthew Lamb has developed an expertise in data protection and data security, with a particular speciality on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulation (PECR). He was one of the first people to graduate from the Henley Business School GDPR Transition Programme and holds Certificates in Managing Cyber Security Risks (CCRMP) and Information Security Risk Management Principles (CISMP). He leads The Data Guardians as Managing Director and Lead Consultant. The Data Guardians has been accepted into the British Standards Institute’s (BSI) Associate Consultant Programme as a mark of its quality.

Matthew’s work within the data protection industry has seen him working with companies in the retail, financial services, logistics, professional services, estate management, IT support services, consumer services, education and charity sectors. Typical projects have involved assessing an organisation’s GDPR and PECR compliance status, implementing the required tasks to bring these organisations to compliance, conducting GDPR and Information Security compliance audits on data processors and providing ongoing data protection support.

Matthew is an experienced senior manager who has directed security and risk management companies in Europe and Africa over many years. His senior management experience means that he knows full well the difficulties of ensuring corporate compliance with a variety of regulations and therefore is able to properly advise companies on practical measures to ensure compliance with data protection laws.
