Rupert was the deputy commander of the US-led coalition that defeated ISIS. He is a former British Army major general with over 30 years’ experience. He led in Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and the Caribbean. He has extensive campaign and operational planning and execution experience. He wrote the plan for the large-scale deployment of UK troops in support of civil authorities in the event of a major terrorist incident. He was responsible for the counter-ISIS campaign plan, including for the liberation of Mosul and Raqqah, and for all inter-agency planning. Most recently he commanded the UK’s rapid reaction HQs, delivering campaign contingency plans for responses to instability in the Middle East and northern Europe. He left the military in 2022 and, in addition to his strategy executions roles, is now an expert advisor to start-ups and leadership coach to senior executives.
