Bob brings forty years senior experience of the international mining sector and strategic direction. First graduating from the Royal School of Mines in London with a B.Sc. (Mining), he also holds MBA from the London Business School – specialising in the valuation and financing of mining ventures – together with a B.Comm. from the University of South Africa. Widely experienced in the management and leadership of both underground and surface mining operations, he has been responsible for projects and businesses in Africa, Canada, Europe, Greenland, Middle East and the Indian Ocean regions. Previously Principal Mining Engineer for a leading, UK based international mining consultancy, he has recently completed a major strategic development project for Afghanistan’s President Ashraf Ghani and the country’s Ministry of Mines & Petroleum.
A certificated Mine Manager with direct knowledge of mining for gold, copper, coal, iron, base-minerals and building-materials, Bob is a registered Chartered Engineer and recognised “Competent Person / Expert Witness” for mining affairs. In addition to his technical expertise, Bob is a fluent French speaker with conversational ability is several other languages.
