John was CEO of Airmic, the UK risk and insurance manager’s association, from 2008- 2017, during which time, he played a leading role in helping to reform the UK’s insurance contract law. He also led Airmic’s ground breaking risk research programme, working with leading U.K. business schools, examining the underlying causes of many of the world’s most catastrophic failures in risk management in recent years and exploring effective resilience strategies.
Prior to his time at Airmic, John was CEO of Marsh and McLennan’s risk consulting arm in Europe and a member of the Marsh Europe Board. He was at Marsh and previously Sedgwick for nearly 30 years.
John is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and has over 40 years experience working with global and international companies on complex risk and insurance issues.
