David is a personable, energetic and creative Senior Executive with a rich public service and commercial experience built on a full and varied military career and nine years as CEO/Producer of the world-renowned Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo (REMT). A practised communicator and listener, he has a reputation for establishing strong visions, building confident and dynamic teams, being accurate in analysis, quick in collaboration and crisp in coordination and execution. David has travelled and worked widely as a major events producer and creative director, a skilled evaluator of both risk and opportunity, a builder of multi-layered and multi-sector partnerships, a thought-leader in tourism and as a ‘cultural diplomat’. David is now a freelance Producer/Director and Consultant. His particular interest and expertise lie in developing innovative ‘soft power’ strategies and solutions that support the development of the arts, business, regional and national brands and their programmes.
