Launch of the Integrated Development Strategy for Kampala 2020

We were incredibly proud to participate, albeit virtually, in the launch of the Integrated Development Strategy for Kampala 2020-25. This is the culmination of a year’s work by the Strategia team, together with our friends and colleagues at the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) and the UK FCDO funded Cities and Infrastructure for Growth programme.

KCCA’s Executive Director, Dorothy Kisaka, explained that the plan is intended to communicate to the residents, business and investors the city’s long-term vision, and how KCCA plans to achieve it. Uganda’s Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda said the Government was committed to ensuring the realisation of the plan, stressing that Kampala is not just a national capital, but an economic centre, which plays a key role in the overall development and implementation of different government programmes.

We truly believe this work has the potential to be of lasting benefit to the citizens of Kampala – one of Africa’s fastest growing cities – and we wish our Ugandan friends well in its successful execution.
